YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN

YOU CAN’T GO HOME AGAIN

I want to go back to where I was born
End my days
In the home  where I was raised.
But now
Only ghosts live there.
Lost scenes of  yesterdays
No love to hold me close
No childhood innocence
No one left to know
Who I am.
Where did they all go.
How did the present become the past
So quickly.
How did I become one of the last
So soon.
Out of the womb
To earth’s eternal sleep.
Deep longing sickens  my soul
The Silence turns my heart cold.
There is no bliss in heaven’s way.
Lost I am to all I knew.
Not how I thought it would be.
And tell me  please
If you know.
Where did all their  love go.

Their love is in you if you held them dear,

Are we to address the meaning or the poem? Their love is in you if you held them dear, and in other membes of that family of yours, love goes on forever one can even feel it in the old buildings of long ago. 'They' say never go back, but only go back if you can accept that all is changed, I expected Norway to have changed in 20 years between my first visit at 10 years old and my coming to live here at 32 years old, expecting all to be different but it wasn't, the trees were taller, but the atmosphere and the buildings were the same I found that strange, I don't know what I would have felt if it were changed but I was prepared for that, I am always prepared for that. I am only surprised and pleased to find anything that hasn't changed and that I too held dear. I do not suffer from these torments, I accept the new order. Those who have gone are gone. Then I am not turned in on myself as you are, one can so sympathise with that. Your Annuccia

J.B. Longo-GeremiaYes, life

J.B. Longo-Geremia Yes, life is forward movement, but once someone iks gone the love we feel is for them. No one ever came back from the dead to say" I love you still."

Sometimes we can’t see

Sometimes we can't see that love is all there is. I'm always reminded of the last lines in the movie "Ghost". "It's amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you." It touches us because it's true. Some folks never let it out. "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

J.B. Longo-Geremia Yes. a beautiful line, but it was just a movie. My experience with those who have passed has been different and disillusioning-- that is my reality. Love to you, my Anna

I don’t know… my

I don't know... my Longo... we are but mere thoughts in each other's heads... the thought of lover, wife, husband, child, boss, friend, enemy, stranger, etc. as such when that thought dies... who can come back from the dead but our thoughts of them? Loving you, Anna "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

J.B. Longo-GeremiaI wonder.

J.B. Longo-Geremia I wonder. I wrote a response to this and just posted it on FORUM, "Even Houdinni didn't make it back."

Dear Longo

I read a little of myself in this. I wish I had an answer to all the sad thoughts some go through, but as many will assimilate with this poem, you will know you are not alone in this questioning. I enjoyed the read and you always write it beautifully, sad or happy. Love and wishes dear man. Love Lyz. XX
