CAN YOU DANCE THE TANGO?

CAN YOU DANCE THE TANGO

Can you dance the tango.

Can you hold me close

Show me the way

As I used to glide across the room

So easily.

Can you make me feel

The harmony of motion

The grace that once was mine.

Can you make me move again in ecstasy

Fire in my veins.

Can you just for a moment

Take away the pain..

It has been  a while

I’ve danced the tango.

I’m slowly and steadily

You see

Turning to stone.

But

I want to dance the tango

Just one more time.

Can you make me feel

Again

The ecstasy of motion.

The grace that once was mine

Before I am finished

Before it is done with me

Before the end

OF music in my heart

Of fire in my soul.

Before I step out of the light alone.

 Before I am Silence.,

Before I am stone.

Dear Jayne said it well Joe.

Listen to the rhythm take up the stance and in the imagination your fire will return and with your red cummerbund your black trousers and polished shoes the dance with whoever your please will begin even when the music stops and all is quiet your soul will dance on into the night reminding you of ecstasies you knew from long ago their fiery fierce enthralling blaze will glow and you will know its grace its face of serious glance its tango rhythm sounding with the pounding of your heart and you will then remember your love of long ago her feelings soft as snow when first you took her in your arms and loved her so now she is only memory but when you think of her she'll shine like Summers gone of laughter joy and fun until you loose your thoughts and stillness fills the gap but then you'll not be bothered by their lack you'll notice that the sky is still so blue and see beauty of another kind so true Who was she Joe, what was her name this one you loved so much? We'll never know I guess but in your mind you'll dance again and feel her tender kiss the tango will do this the last dance of your prime when you become sublime and sail in your abyss the music carrying on and our love here will throng to meet you there for we don't care whether you can dance or no we love you just as Joe. I have loved the Tango as far back as I can remember. Dear Longo

My cousin went to Argentina for a wedding and while she was there all she wanted to do was learn the Tango. One lesson and she was in tears, her partner had passed a few years earlier and when she saw how beautiful the Tango was and the couples, she felt the dance belonged to those in love. Your poem is just as beautiful as the dance itself and I am sure as Jayne and Ann, you will never be silent and you will dance the Tango again. Love Lyz. XX

J.B. Longo-GeremiaNothing

J.B. Longo-Geremia Nothing can stop me from "dancing the tango." I am too stubborn. My poetry is my catharsis and the "tango" is a metaphor for life. Besides, I told the doctor that I was too damn good looking to die!lol Love to you my Lyz. Joe

At a boy!

'That's the spirit' as my mother said a hundred times a day, she was such a one too, she arrived at the doctor's and he said "you shouldn't be here" she having had a big coronary heart attack when in her 70's( this she was never told), but she always was. She was a bit taken aback at the doctor's saying that and told us all about it many times!!! But she lived until she was 91+ a day and was always full of humour, a joy to be with, even laughing on her deathbed, that's the way. My father was STUBBORN he wouldn't go in to the doctors in his wheel chair, now debilitated by rheumatism so much that he was almost a skeleton, but he said "I AM GOING IN WITHOUT MY CRUTCHES" and did to that doctor's great surprise too, they had strong wills both of them and that held them upright in life! And sometimes caused tensions of course!!! Very powerfully in the right often too much. So we all need to have good "backbones" to survive life's trials and tribulations. Too true my handsome friend Longobardolino. Your Annuccia.
