Touched the Quick

You have touched the quick of my heart

from whence is born the art

of poetry

enhancing all that is

in rainbow hue

with mysterious glow

and like the coat of snow

its magic cover spread

on all the pain and troubles in your head

and body

wedded to the whole

its vows of peace

of joy within another's heart

is fixed

no longer parted lips of red

they meet

fast like the wick

that feeds a dynamite bomb

the fires of passion lit

spreads through from head to feet

and all is set alight

the lights of great desire

begins to long for air

and find it in each other's breath

is consummate

Share life's great sacrifice of claim

no longer virgin birth to blame

but all consumed

blessed

sensed as great as that of awe

as in the heavens we adore

so wide

so wild

so natural

a flight of mind

love's bonds entwined

the vine of all fine wines,

their birth

gives cause to mirth so wonderful

so bold

so whole,

so far beyond the farthest star

deep in the recesses of the womb

life stirs

what magic then is this

this bliss

this disregard for caution

this act whose actors are

the coming generation

I collapse in the now of it

I die in it

I am no more an I

but goddess

of the why of it.

touched...poem

A.H., As I read this, I felt it's power pulling me in. It's very sensuous all between the lines. You build and build until you "collapse in the now of it". A good hot write. wcw

Dear Ann of Norway:

Excellent write, very powerful, the wording is pure and intuitive, qualities which I most admire in a love poem. You have written very well, dear Anne. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Great poem! Sincerely, Hugo

Dear Princess Ann Of Norway

And a beautiful poem of love at that. Exquisite, and your use of vivid words puts this poem to music. You have written a creation and I enjoyed this read and then said, Aww, nice. Lol. Well done Princess, it will be appreciated. Love to you, Lyz. Xx

so bold, so whole...

... so far beyond the farthest star - a gorgeous augmentation your title is wonderful and captures the poem in its net so that it stays just long enough for us to read its fluttering lines this is breath-taking in its clarity no longer virgin birth to blame - reads so smoothly, I love the alliteration here and the last stanza, all of it is poetry longing to be spoken, sheer melody beautiful, my Ann of Norway, as only you could write it! your Proprietress

fallen is the dark entrance the steady of the damp

a most amazing write with formal feel I love Sergie Rachmaninoff and reserve listening to him when deeply moved having been introduced by a ride home one night by an elder freind to this music again Something disciplined and yet flowing so easy and steady like art here I am drawn to memories of reading the works of Russian poets from bookstores in Torontos then art community streets fifteen or fourteen then this is a very beautiful and moving poem Ann Thank You

Oh golly I'm here am I ?

Oh golly I'm here am I? I didn't know until just now, you are all such lovely people and I feel that I can really write poetry when all you people I so admire, comment on my efforts. I was moved so strongly by my feelings that this poured out onto the page as I thought it in a letter. We are privileged to be able to enter into the ecstasies of our imagination aren't we, whole heartedly indulging in the music of words and the exotic dance of the sensations and feelings, not hindered by outward interruptions in the mind, focussing on the essence of the moment. How lucky we really are to be able to do this, when many haven't even stopped to think. And yet all have this potential waiting to be used. Oh I love it all and I love you all you good and loyal friends. Ann of Norway, Q... P... +Annuccia.

Io sono molto felice Il mio Longobardolino

Io sono molto felice Il mio Longobardolino, Because you have said this to me, you with the erudite knowledge of poetry in so many different languages and styles, your utterance on quality is very much respected by me; therefore I thank you a thousand times for not only this comment, but for all the encouragement and confidence-giving belief in me that you have shown me this past year. Without your support and influence I would not have felt so self assured and so bold. It is a combination of you Joe, with others here, that has gleaned from the archives of my locked brain's storehouse, my words, and brought forth what I have created here and elsewhere, this has given me a thrill beyond compare, something that I will never forget as along as I live. And in my old age I have become young again, that is stunning for me! I'll kick up my knees and do a dance of sheer joy. What more wonderful is there than the act of creating something of worth, something that has the seeds of art in its highest meaning. Man without art, religion and myth without art is poor indeed and if one feels one has done, even a TINY bit towards the enhancing of man's existence then it should make one very happy. So if this poem is so well appreciated I feel I can improve still further and that is so very exciting to imagine; hopefully i too will retain my memories as well as you have Joseph, no one really knows their future in old age! Thank you all and a special thanks to you my dearest Longobardolino who has unwaveringly supported me in my endeavours. Love Annuccia (Anna- your mother)+Ann of Norway. All of you are 'angels' in the definition we understand that to be.

J.B. Longo-GeremiaBut

J.B. Longo-Geremia But Annuccia you alwalys had that "special" gift. You didn't need me or anyone else to bring it out. You always had the wings to fly to beautiful places with your words and carry us along with you.... It is time you recognize this and appreciate your talents as a poet and those marvelous and special qualities of a loving and caring human being. Te dico: brava, bravissima. Il tuo Longoboardolino

Toving Ann

I came and read this several times but needed the space to reflect on your words. This is such a beautiful poem but more than that a wonderful affirmation of life and love. Somehow it takes the fear of getting old and valueless away for me and replaces it with a spark of hope and pure joy. I have tried not to be side tracked by the comments of others here but it is your own affirmations that are themselves so heartfelt I feel fortunate to have shared the birth and acknowledgement of this poem with people who love you and your work. Thank you Seabhac

... but goddess of the why of it

... but goddess of the why of it Oh my goodness - this is just wonderful. Your use of internal rhyme is a beautifully worked poetic device that sings with such melody throughout. There is such powerful voice and affirmation of life - its goodness and necessity - and of how precious it truly is. I enjoyed this so much. ~Pamela
