An Eggistential matter--EDITED

An Eggistential matter

Humpty Dumpty sat on a w all…
Now that was his first mistake
An egg doesn’t tempt fate
Sitting on the edge of infinity
For he as all other eggs
Tend to break when they fall.
We humans do much the same
It seems
Not knowing where we're going.
Lost in existential themes.
Dreams .
Not reality.
A curb or cliff will do
To make us a Humpty Dumpty too.
Dreaming and fantasy are okay
But I say
When your heart and mind wander around
Keep your feet on solid ground.
We all face a wall or two or more
Keep it real
You know Life’s bitter score.

You did a great job with

You did a great job with this. A liked the whimsical flair that it had, and the juxtaposition of the Humpty Dumpty fable and existentialism.

not a whole egg but a FRIED EGG!

Humpty dumty wobble your toes wiffle your nose you knows how to make us smile it is your style I know it now you can flow it Now I must be sensible here, clear my throat and reply to this, this, this EGG You remember I sent you a picture of one of my ideas for children to make, for Easter, and that was a chicken in the shape of a cone in paper with the feathers small torn bits of paper, beak and eyes and crest, but underneath was an egg, not a whole egg but a FRIED EGG! THERE is the illustration for this poem in an egg shell!! Hope your wall is supports you well my Longobardolino, That's of course NOT comparing you to an egg, heaven forbid, you are more like your swan or an eagle soaring in the existential ethereal, surreal, eternal questions of life, Your Annuccia

HA! Love your egg shells coming together, re-editing themselves as it were, a bit cracked around the edges. Hug. ~A
