PROMETHEUS' FIRE

PROMETHEUS’ FIRE

I feel the embers burning cold in me
A rage rippiing  within
Not to be spoken.
Driven to the edges of insanity
As I contemplate
The absurdity of my humanness.
My energy lives
Separate and alone
From all else that  defines me.
And
Like Prometheus
I long  to steal heaven’ s fire
Find the key to Creation
And know.

We thank you for sharing it with us and wish you well.

We cannot know what it is like, but here you give us cause to pause and think how it would be, and how such ripping rages and uncouth sensations grab our consciousness to steer our minds and see the struggled battles so unexplained, so unjust, so tempestuous, that fear governs the drive of life like a dragon of relentless persistence. How we understand the power of this expressive outpouring from you, and quake at its reverberations through our corridors of rhetoric, enough to roll the drums of life's trials and send them out to those genes which caused the treacherous inevitability of your demise. We can do nothing. And yet we can, we can sympathise, we can empathise, we can show that we understand, and from your poetry gain the understanding of so many of our fellow beings who strive to live while we dance in gay abandon in the meadows of coloured flowers, and celebrate our health. It is our lot, what comes is predestined, to a certain extent, every one of us will have something not quite perfect, with time we find out what, and if we have been good at keeping ourselves healthy then maybe we find suffering not so bad, but if not, we will understand all the more your feelings in this poem and remember that we are not alone in pain. Your battle clear in our minds will strengthen our resolve to stand up and face our weaknesses and give us solace, I am sure of it. We thank you for sharing it with us and wish you well. A Word From Dalton

Liked the poem immensely. I always admire poems concerning Prometheus "Crucified to the Caucasis" the backbone of the world. He always seemed to me a benevolent spirit stealing fire from heaven to benefit mankind. Top read, keep it up. Dalton.

Ah, Joe,

Prometheus again. We talked about Prometheus once before, I think, that we both have a long standing fascination with this myth. The key to creation... we all would love to have that, and to know why... Yours, ~Nina
