FROM PLACES DEEP
FROM PLACES DEEP From places deepDeeper than the unknownLurking in dark corners of my mindShadows of yesterdays cruel and unkindBy Memory’s touch are free to roam.A fury rises to haunt my today. My heart once warm to the wondersOf this God’s World and Nature’s wayNew beginnings and no endSuddenly turns to stone. I pass through this time and spaceAlone. No place for faith. No lyrics to sing.I wander in my own complexityAs I face eternity’s sting. There are no priestly prayersNo liturgyNo magic incantationsNo witcheryThat can release me from the holdOf my own reality cruel and coldAs shadows from deep insideTaunt my spirit and bleed my soul.
