IT'S NOT A QUESTION OF VALOR
IT’S NOT A QUESTION OF VALOR
Kyrie eleison
Kriste eleison
It’s not a matter of valor
You understand
Not courage
That pushes me on.
My fears take hold and paralyze
Facing an unknown eternity
And the silence of these infinite spaces
Terrifies my soul.
Yet
I often see with a certain clarity
Existence has no mystery.
Some Abstraction
Infinite and unforgiving
Plays the Human Condition
And
Time is it’s familiar
As we decay and our heart grows cold.
What Witchery this.
No redemption to sin
No true resurrection
Futility to resist our Inevitability.
And when I separate
To stand at Heaven’s Gate
I know my soul is clean.
I ‘ve lived by the Golden Rule
Owned my pain and suffering
Rejoiced in my humanity
Pleasure, bliss and harmony.
I’ve died and recreated myself
Over and over again.
I’ve stolen Heaven’s fire
Many times.
I’ve owned my Destiny
It’s not a question of Valor
You understand.
And
When I end
I will end with Dignity.
Kyrie eleison
