SOMEONE'S CHILD
SOMEONE’S CHIL
If I knew yesterday what today would bring
I couldn’t have changed a thing
Always taken by the moment
Pulled by life’s flow
Looking back with wonder
Wandering into regret
Yet
This is who I was
This is who I am
Lessons learned not easily
Hardened by the serpent’s touch
Prayers for forgiveness
Never did much
Here I stand in time and space
Sublimely soon erased
From history
Still
The child of someone
Loved by some
And then by few
An existential breathing function
A singular energy
Free
Wating
To storm the gates of heaven
And
Ravage the halls of hell
If I knew yesterday what today would bring
I couldn’t have changed a thing
Always taken by the moment
Pulled by life’s flow
Looking back with wonder
Wandering into regret
Yet
This is who I was
This is who I am
Lessons learned not easily
Hardened by the serpent’s touch
Prayers for forgiveness
Never did much
Here I stand in time and space
Sublimely soon erased
From history
Still
The child of someone
Loved by some
And then by few
An existential breathing function
A singular energy
Free
Wating
To storm the gates of heaven
And
Ravage the halls of hell
