YOU DID

YOU DID

 You always told me

We all have our time

You did

Now it is mine

You always told me

To hold on until

All hope s gone

Then

Let go

You did

Now so will I

But can you tell me how

To make my spirit sing again

The way it used to

Precious days are few

Tell me

How do I see them through

Alone

Pain isolates one, as it is

Pain isolates one, as it is so inside oneself that the experience is. Even with a crowd of people around one, or family, one still feels alone inside oneself. This I understand and can imagine myself in. This is living out a hell before one's time has come, a fate no one wishes or expects will come to him/her, but when it has and cannot be changed, it is a form of torture; which no one else can transform even though the pills and potions of modern medicine can lessen the pain, the mental pain it causes is still there like writing on the wall, indelible. As you have yourself said, the word resign is thought of and in resigning lies a hope of understanding how to tackle the torture and living through it see glints of things worth while and pain free, that soothe the spirit and make troubles bearable, for a while at least. Poem so well understood. Annuccia
