MEDUSA'S TOUCH

MEDUSA’S TOUCH

[Parkinsons]

 Mesmerized deep in what seems
Opiate like  dreams
Murderous venom
Slowly seeping death
Into me
Helpless surrender
To Medusa’s touch
Unseen
Feeling now the sting
Of the serpent’s kiss
As I turn to stone
My soul  still alive
Unable to speak God’s mercy

This is wonderful and

This is wonderful and terrible at the same time, what an analogy, so perfect and so fitting and so frightening, oh dear but this is marvellous and good in all its aspects, content and feeling, what can I say more? I love it and hate the cause of its having to be created at all when it is such a venomous disease, I just sigh a big sigh and send all my sympathy to take away you physical and mental pain as best I can in your demise. Mesmerised opiate murderous slowly seeping death helpless surrender sting serpents kiss turn to stone unable to beg mercy from God Wonderously well described with imagery so fitting and so strong, I admire your writing here Longo, lonely in your cause of staying alive, but not alone in spirit as we are here with you thinking of you as we read this poem.
