ETCHED IN STONE

ETCHED IN STONE

We let them slip into oblivion

Only names now etched in stone

Strange this

Voices once heard

Once known

Silenced into Eternity

Now fading shadows of memory

Ghosts lingering in Time

Energy so bright and clear

Always there . Always near

Sparks of a Soul

The fire of  Life

Then

Sudden oblivion

Beautifully sad, etched in memory.

And so they are in each their own way, at least for a while until the memory of them fades away and they remain the ghosts of the graveyards, wandering, ever wandering among those etched stones, giving the special atmosphere of 'malinconia' you so love, it sweeps you in to its shawl of grey thoughts lingering and sad, yet beautiful. At last

the stars are coming out in your writing but to be there for words etched in stone, well it was an end game of stars. It reminded me of several verses as The field of stone and a couple of others but you still made it special, Always remember they though etched in stone are but a thought away, Yours Ian.T
