FEARFUL SYNERGY-revised
FEARFUL SYNERGY
Ghosts chasing midnight
On the run
Fearful of the sun
Inside of me
Memories unkind
Sins and transgressions
Things I did or should have done
Things I didn’t do
Not enough to explain
This suffering and pain
No attrition is mine
No penance deserved
No crucifixion
I am this glorious and magnificent rejection
Of some Cosmic Imperfection
A dialectic of heredity and natural selection
Yet I feel a fire deep inside
A cinder made to burn bright
My soul , my spirit , my heart, my mind
All the same synergy
At war with one body
Duality at its best
An ever changing living function
I am today not yesterday
I am tomorrow if it comes
I am an unsolvable enigma
I am what the waves of Time
Make of me
I am who I was meant to be
Christ, have mercy on my soul
Phantoms in flight
Ghosts chasing midnight
On the run
Fearful of the sun
Inside of me
Memories unkind
Sins and transgressions
Things I did or should have done
Things I didn’t do
Not enough to explain
This suffering and pain
No attrition is mine
No penance deserved
No crucifixion
I am this glorious and magnificent rejection
Of some Cosmic Imperfection
A dialectic of heredity and natural selection
Yet I feel a fire deep inside
A cinder made to burn bright
My soul , my spirit , my heart, my mind
All the same synergy
At war with one body
Duality at its best
An ever changing living function
I am today not yesterday
I am tomorrow if it comes
I am an unsolvable enigma
I am what the waves of Time
Make of me
I am who I was meant to be
Christ, have mercy on my soul
