QUIET BEFORE THE STORM

QUIET BEFORE THE STORM There was a sudden quiet anticipation A peace and tranquility The calm before the storm Coming my way I folded myself inside of me Waiting patently Silently I had been there before You see It is all in the knowing We win some battles Lose most Endurance is just a name I will lose in the end Lose I will but not until I give in And let the winds of destiny Carry me on fire wings To that place I had never been You see It’s all in the knowing

" I folded myself inside of me"

This phrase I love, it describes so much in so few words, as does the poem, the reality of which haunts the calm of our minds as we read and ride with you. Knowing and yet not wishing to know. End durance is a way of putting this word too perhaps. I like the poem but not its fateful intentions. Such experiences heighten the perceptions and the thoughts that the brain has pondered for a long time, all come to a head and are made clearer, or hang as a hypotheses forever unsolved and puzzling. Your poem becomes lucid and gives us all hints of the reality of suffering although never of such an intensity that only you have known. Your Annuccia fra Norge.
