Winds of Life

Winds of Life

Adrift in the seas of never
Tossed upon the shores of now
She wanders in the forest
Of what is yet to be

She bathes in the waters
Of hopes that may come true
And dries upon the dreams
Of what might have been

She walks beneath the moonlight
Of love that she longs for
And ponders on the stars
Of what might never be

Tossed by the storms of was
That soaks her spirit still
She is blown by winds of maybe
Toward tomorrow dawning bright.

Rett...

Stepping into free-form works well for you... the winds of chance are an excellent choice of theme... great flow... loved the ending line on each stanza... crisp... Tossed by the storms of was... great line! Richard

Do you know what I am

Do you know what I am thinking here Rett? I wonder just how it would look if you were to tie all the verses together as one, and rearrange the layout of the phrases 'a la Longo' for instance, I feel it would become something very special then, I shall not try as you can do that yourself, but have a go for me? Don't necessarily change a thong if you think not. But its content I like. That soaks her spirit still (soak) Toward tomorrows dawning bright Respectfully Ann of Norway

A simple thought

Rett. I enjoyed the quill you placed to parchment yet I would answer her and tell her the truth be she a lady or the sea. It could be most anything for a person to seek. No matter my friend just be you and those like myself will listen and learn. Steven A. Kacer

Hello Rett

This is a very nice freeform poem. I'm reading a lot of this sort of free-flowing, introspective work here today. I like all of it, but I will pick as a favorite: Adrift in the seas of never Tossed upon the shores of now She wanders in the forest Of what is yet to be The thing is, good, or bad, this is pretty much how I've lived my life. It comes from being a left-handed poet. Yours, Dee

Winds of Time

Rett Well my friend you have written a this poem about me. I am in every line. Will tomorrow be brighter I do not know? I know it could be brighter if those i need now would come forward and step up to the mark. But patience I have but I could do with a long hug right now. Still so much to do. Still finding it hard to create my words beside the two just written but they are just my feelings trying to find my way. Thank you for this beautiful poem my friend it has brightened my day.
