"AND PROTECT US FROM ALLL EVIL... AMEN."
AND PROTECT us F ROM ALL EVIL.. AMEN *
I know all too well
Those gypsy legends of old
Or can you be
The one I used to see
In childhood visions of earliest memory
The one I would tell
To smiling faces now long gone
But you don’t look my way
As you used to do
No shining light in your eyes
Comfort of a frightened Child
Angel in White
Light of my darkest Nights
No Fall is mine that I know
As I near my end
Someone still is protecting me
From Evil’s Trickery
His Name in my Soul
I say each day
Wiser now than before
Tell me
Are you the devil in disguise
Kriste eleison
*Part of a prayer in the RC litrugy
** Ancient Greek: part of the old RC mass when said in Latin : Lord have mercy; Christ have mercy.
Know them both very well: -)
[To recognize evil is to reject it]
Are you the devil come claim my soul
I know all too well
Those gypsy legends of old
Or can you be
The one I used to see
In childhood visions of earliest memory
The one I would tell
To smiling faces now long gone
But you don’t look my way
As you used to do
No shining light in your eyes
Comfort of a frightened Child
Angel in White
Light of my darkest Nights
No Fall is mine that I know
As I near my end
Someone still is protecting me
From Evil’s Trickery
