NORWAY-revised

NORWAY  There is a magic in a Northern PlaceOn the edge of this Earth’s spaceSo far above what we can seeThe door to infinity Silver dust falling from pinesOn Winter 's  night so cold and clean Pure and pristine
No stain of sin
In hearts warm and trueHoney colored  dew
Frozen stillLonging for Morning's touchRows of timber  roofs sleeping peacefully
In drifts of white magicallyPiercing blue MidnightSparkling diamonds' silent sighGently giving wayAs they dieTo a golden and enchanted day

Gjette hvem?

Now the cottages have gone and the air is full of birch log fire smoke, sweet and wonderful, as is the perfume of the snow. It seems you have described a place where I am at home and yes the people are friendly and warm hearted, I can vouch for that although most of my friends in the countryside are older people as I find them so interesting. Soon even they will be gone and then I shall have to find others. Come over and see this land is so beautiful and unspoiled with many people, there are places that the Danes would go into raptures over when the locals don't even notice them. There are those who think that Norway is cold, ok in Winter there is snow, but it is dry, unlike the damp of Britain that gets to the bone marrow of everyone. It is colder when the temperature rises and the winds blow from the mountains, and in the Summer it can be hotter than Athens, too hot for me. I found I didn't have to wear a scarf in the east, when I always had to on that tiny Island of Great Britain, always a wind and sometimes fit to blow one over. Norway is so beautiful I cannot describe it, the wilds, the FORESTS, the animals, the fjords of course and those wonderful timber houses and 800 year old wooden churches are the works of art, not to mention the rock carvings probably some of the best in the world. One is privileged to live here, so close to nature and with less than 4 million people! If you cannot come I will do my best to describe it for you Longobardolno Yours Ann of Norway
