THE DEVIL AND I

THE DEVIL AND I I had the strangest invitation To dance around the world To forsake all others And twirl in ecstasy To see my immortality And forgotten dreams To sleep in another’s arms again Pretend My breath had no end Suddenly A waltz began to play As I reached out to take  A hand But I have seen deceit before Eyes that smile with lies My soul is mine to hold I will be fooled  no more

Joe,

Finally, I get round to commenting on my friends´ latest posts. Funny, I posted a poem about the devil, too! I love yours, you´ve nailed that enticing whisper of promises the evil one can hiss into our ears. Yours, ~Nina

Mr Longo

As always you hit things right square on. The Devil and I have had our rounds. Some won by him, more by me. Fantastic write and a broadside shot! 5/5 Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Yeah Longo

That proffered hand is often a claw, isn't it. Satan and me go way back...he tries to trick me, I spit in his eye, he stamps a hoof on my chest, I laugh back. I still here and my soul is my own! LOL A great write Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

J.B. Longo-Geremia This was inspired by an old southern Italian wive's tale that when we die the devil is given 3 days to claim our soul. So much for myths! :) Joe

Duality

The devil dances with us all at the same time as we think we are dancing with the angels, its just that we don't always know it. In the beautiful is the ugly, without the ugly how do we know the beautiful? Just my crazy thoughts. Annucia.
