THE DEVIL AND I
THE DEVIL AND I I had the strangest invitation To dance around the world To forsake all others And twirl in ecstasy To see my immortality And forgotten dreams To sleep in another’s arms again Pretend My breath had no end Suddenly A waltz began to play As I reached out to take A hand But I have seen deceit before Eyes that smile with lies My soul is mine to hold I will be fooled no more
