ACROSS THIS EMPTY SPACE

ACROSS THIS EMPTY SPACE Effortless my spirit glides Across this empty space Rooms once filled with things And memories A lifetime. An eternity A warm and gentle  place    That held my soul so long in its embrace A reflection  of me through so many years A collection of  smiles  and tears This was my home A world where I would grow old And now  As I follow yet another way I listen for voices past But I know the truth to what they say  Nothing lasts No echoes heal my broken dreams Alone I wish my heart would stop its beat And kill this unkind  melancholy As wistfully My spirit glides across this empty And  Lonely space

Oh woeful time, you travel

Oh woeful time, you travel on apace and we cannot change with it when we are in pain, or have to leave that which is dear to us and inhabit a strange house where the memories are none and the door creaks with another sound, the windows have another view and all is different. But within you you have the same memories and the same rooms. I took with me the meadows of primroses, the great oak trees, the Cox's Orange Pippin apples and Bramleys cooking apples; I can wander when I wish in the woods, or on the beaches of old England and feel at home in my thoughts, even hear the birds and smell the perfumes of the wild wet earth. So we may move abodes but what is of value we take with us forever in our hearts. Wanted to quote something here but have a new little computer and haven't yet coupled it with the HD from the old one, so it will have to wait. A poem we can all identify with, leaving the known, the familiar and the well loved, Longobardolino. Annuccia.

We all need to mve on...

J.B. Longo-Geremia ...but it is not the final destination that is painful-- it is the journey getting there. Wish me luck, Annuccia... Il Longobardolino

I do, I do

Of course I do Longobardolino, and may you find something exciting and interesting where you arrive, as you arrive, something that will give you new enthusiasm to write new poems and be able to dance your pen across a page (the romantic way of saying write on your computer!!!) and delight us all here again after you are installed. Do tell us what your new venue is like, it might give you a pleasant surprise and in turn surprise us too! Your expectantly Annuccia
