THOSE OLD NEAPOLITAN SONGS

THOSE OLD NEAPOLITAN SONGS

If you were here
Mamma
We would listen
You and I
To those melodies
That
Made you cry
And
Think of times gone by
I would wonder
As I always did
At that sweet melancholy
I used to see
In your tired  eyes.
Now Mamma
If you  were still here
Would you sing those songs
For me.
Songs that touched your  soul
Songs we listen to
When we grow old.
But Mamma
I need to do this on my own
And if
You were still here with me
I couldn’t sleep my eternity
Peacefully
Knowing  I left you  alone.

THOSE OLD NEOPOLITAN SONGS

A very Heartfelt poem. I Didn't care for the ending. [This could be just me] Maybe some re-arrangement I would put "But Mama I need to do this on my own" at the end Hope no offense is taken, for it is a beautiful poem~ ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

No offense taken at all...:)

J.B. Longo-Geremia "Dream Danse" here on site explains it all... Thanks {Grazie mille] joe P.S. "mamma" is the Italian spelling for :mama" in English.
