I can't wait for spring so that the flowers will 'laugh with color'!! Good haiku - very descriptive, especially the crying icicles. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point in the wrong direction!" -"God is good, but never dance in a small boat."

Thanks Dwarf

I thought I would try a new twist and give inanimate objects some human emotion, Thanks so much for your comments, I really appreciate it. Cannot wait for tomorrow, I wrote a triolet! I like your new saying about the boat...... How's married life, and school. Hope you get all that learning and then perhaps make a huge discovery! Patty

Saturday in Michigan it was 60 degrees where I live and that is what prompted this poem. It's supposed to be short The Haiku is 5 syllables 7 syllables 5 syllables Named it Icicles cry...... want to try one ?.... It's supposed to be about nature. Patty

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comments. You have a good idea there, I remember trying to memorize a poem by Robert Frost and reciting it in front of the class It was long and I was scared. Now for the life of me can't remember. Patty

Hi Moon

Thank you so much for your comment. The icicles got so long they touched the ground now they have cried themselves to death. Hope all is well with you. Patty

Beautiful Patty

What else could I say to make it any clearer. Astoundingly beautiful. I loved it. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." If government is the answer, it's a stupid question!

Thank you so much, I appreciate your comments. I have been trying to write one for about a year now. I think I did a couple of them, but I am satisfied with this one cause its about nature. I am trying to throw spring towards everyone, but the snow keeps getting in the way. soon Patty

Glad you enjoyed it, The icicles are gone, but still getting snow, I hope the flowers come soon, I miss being outside walking barefoot, not having to warm up the car, swimming, sun, I am awaiting the return of nature. Patty

Sweet Patty pure bread!

What a wonderful Haiku, I was not here for the "spot Light", but this little treasure deserved it! thanks, your Buddy Eddie! PS. I went to your site and read some wonderful poetry, one especial caught my eye, "Hands of the Potter" it starts out like Irish poetry, one that was written by a convert of Saint Patrick. Saint Manchan, the style of the write is very 4th or 5th century. The Irish Monks wrote of Jesus in a personal fun loving way, the poetry is light and to the point. I truly enjoyed the music and poetry on "your Site". I will stop in again to read more! Life is like a railroad track that leads to many junctures, if you stand on the track, Love comes speeding along and runs you over!! Splat!!!!

Hey Eddie, its been a while.... I missed you

Glad you liked the Haiku, and got to visit the site.... did you see the picture of the stage... Pretty grandious..... eh... not scary to me at all. We are having a live recording I have 3 days to go and 4 more songs to learn, yikes!!!!!! The hands of the potter poem, was inspired by T.D. Jakes of Chicago. that's the name of his church.... cool huh????? My picture is on the very last poem with my mouth open..... those cameras are everywhere with their little red lights. They swing around,. My brother calls me chipper patty, then changed it to Patty chipper, then chipper doodle.... I kinda like Patty pure bread...... thanks for the tag. I am sending you a new private site. In case you have nothing else to do LOL. Love ya Patty in his service
