FLYING HIGH Watch meAs I ride the starsFree and lightNo painNo weightTo hold me downNo tearsNo fearsSoaring highAs fast as my soulWill flyTo Heaven’s Gate

Good flow

The first time I read this I had no stumbles but felt I was missing something. So I read it again, still no stumble, but still something missing. On the third read I figured what was missing. I was over-thinking the poem, looking for a meaning beyond the description of the incident. It's not a failing of the piece, but it may be a comment you get and you should be prepared to hear it. As a descriptive piece it has an easy flow and a smooth pacing. There are not stumbles with words or grammar and, once I felt the piece rather than thought it, I was carried along for the ride. I like that there are incidental rhymes, it give the work a solid feel but at no time does it appear you've sacrificed flow or story for a rhyme. All in all a solid write and though I toyed with suggestions on punctuation, I decided this would actually only make it better for me at the time I read the piece. Were I to come back in a different mood or state of mind, any punctuation I added would serve only to create stumbles in flow. Wow, that was a lot of words to tell you "Good write" but I like to let folks know why I like something since I do not hesitate to tell them when I have suggestions I believe will improve a work. Plus, I tend to babble, who knew? --Jonathan Annoying the world, one person at a time (Group discounts available)

J.B. Longo-GeremiaThanks!!

J.B. Longo-Geremia Thanks!! My "poetry" is a series of short "blasts of sensations". The words and images are my "colors." :) Sometimes difficult to read if one looks too closely at the "trees:, then misses the "forest." {excuse the cliché ) Joe P.S. You don't "babble". I enjoy a thorough commentary.

I do hope you can

Fly from pain and seeing the wonders of the stars and their galaxies spinning you in their words of colours and magic, taking you away from all that's mundane and in the uncomfortable now. if poetry can fly you to heaven, I know you will have the gates flung open for you. Annuccia
