Fallen Angel (Not a nice subject)
Fallen Angel
Short skirt, fishnet stockings, long legs,
Alone on a streetcorner
Leaning against a lamppost, classic pose.
Such a young thing, what a pity,
Turning tricks in the night!
Spiked heels, low cut blouse,
she makes her pitch.
"Hey Mista, Wanna have a good time?
C'mon, ain't I good enough for ya?
Look at these legs, ain't they fine?"
Selling herself to the Johns!
Only sixteen if she's a day,
Not in school,
Fallen Angel, a life gone astray
Walking the streets at night
Selling her favors, play for pay,
Another car door opens, in she goes!
Somebody's daughter, just a child,
She should be out having fun.
Does she know the danger?
Will she live to see the sun?
Turning tricks, no senior prom!
What's her story, why is she here?
A child who should be cared for.
A house, a room, a telephone,
Not turning tricks at open car doors!
Terrified, she sees the knife!
I noted this a few weeks ago in Houston when coming home late from a Football game and noticed a couple of early teen aged girls on the corner. When I stopped for the light I was actually propositioned. One of the girls was white, one was black and both were way too young to be doing that kind of thing. I called the police, but they won't even respond to a call about that. Sad.
