okay

more then okay One of my favourite Authors Poets is of course Margaret Atwood and she is aging from the sixties where she started here in Canada as a Female Poet yah the ol All world male thing anyway I love this poem the approach the stage thing Only because when I was twelve and painfully shy and cast out of my group of three freinds by a more popular newcomer they discovered my reading abilities and had me "Read" the book of the month and they were mesmerized week after week as I progressed through the book until one day I said"No" and the teacher literally screamed at me "You will not tell me NO!" and I sobbed and the recess bell rang and it was all forgotten and someone new read after that and i never did read again but those few weeks before I wanted others the chance to read too were sacred memories today and I am forty five now far from that boy yet still that boy You have such delicacy with words that flow like gentle currents reflecting wonderful skyscapes evoking revolutions of memories

Fear

I often fear, as a woman, a poet, that my youth betrays me. I must remind myself daily that I am only 26 years old no matter how worn I feel. I have held on to my poetry as a safety net, afraid to move forward but in this little bit of time I have taken off as of late, i have realized my desire for change is great. I only hope that my novels will be as kind to me as my poetry has been...after all evolution is inevitable...I thank you more than you know for your kind words friend, they mean so much more when they come from such powerful talent! <3 Emarie "For every shadow, no matter it's depth, is threatened by the morning's light..."

The spirit is ageless….

The spirit is ageless.... the ego is a yo-yo between extremes, usually. You are very young with 3 children... Remember your music, your writing will always be the balance between ego and spirit.. ultimately one and the same. I wrote poetry young, then heavily at 25 in the throes of a love affair with an artist.... then my life took over my poetry and writing. It came back in a flood quite recently. How I missed that part of my life. How fortunate you are that you are immersed in your writing as well as your *life*. And they are not *separate*. Here's my version: The Drama Queen The old drama queen turns, faces the camera and the eye blinks: "I’m ready for my close-up," she coughs, a fine cobweb of spittle balancing on her chin, she used to be such a great beauty, full of dramatic perversion, but she fell in love with the wicked clown with happy feet go home now. the play is finished. go home now. take the shroud off the empty mirror. p.s. I apologize for the misinterpretation of your recent poem...with references to your miscarriages. Devastating!

Youth, words, music, & life...

I have never felt my age and the addition of 3 beautiful children bears no exception to that feeling lol I have never been able to separate my life from my writing either...though believe me I have tried. Your version makes me smile because believe it or not I almost called it Old Maid lol Many thanks! "For every shadow, no matter it's depth, is threatened by the morning's light..." <3 Emarie

Ladyblue...

your writing hasn't suffered from your time off... it is still very good! one thing I noticed and many do it... you start each new line with a cap... on the first read, it made me want to stop but the thoughts were not complete.. of course, it didn't take long to put the thoughts together and it is very good... loved the ending! Nit Pickin'

I think it should be as I LOSE my grip TOO many days on stage I read of a performance by a living legend whose diminished talents may no longer warrant the continued adoration. Am I close? or way off? Tom

stage poem

Lady Blue, I feel your poem. I've been a performer for many years. Still write, still play, still perform. In some ways, better than ever. Still very aware that my dream, was just that. wcw
