*LOL* Teacher material?

That would be good Arrow. I have a General Equivilance Diploma (G.E.D.) which I got several years after I quit High School. That is something I have regretted all my life. I made sure my wife got her education and she has a degree in business. I guess that may be why I read so much and try to research stuff I don't understand. Nope, if I tried to be a teacher they would laugh me out of the school. *LOL* Thank you my friend. I would Question......

Rett You belittle yourself my friend, I quote - "If I tried to be a teacher they would laugh me out of the school" I haven't heard too many laughing here, only loads of warm respects......... Don't be putting yourself down.... Kindest Regards...Peter ~~~"I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday, and I love today."~~~

Thanks Peter

I wasn't doing it intentionally, but I do tend toward that when it comes to my lack of education. That is a big failing of mine that I have tried very hard to overcome. Much obliged. Yes, I like playing with words. It is fun. Also, poetry and especially rhyme has been a teaching aid basically since man learned to talk. cute

and informative! Wish I could find the CD for Photoshop, so I can stop using MS Paint (useless) to scale down my pictures.... I use paintshop pro

for the simple reason it is extremely easy to do and do it quickly. For more involved stuff I use Photoshop. Anna

In your picture program you need to "resize it". Set it at 130 x 150 pixels. 130 being the width and 150 being the height. Hope this helps. aaaH Anna

If I may, I do not stretch it I resize it. If you have MS Office it has Picture Manager and if you push the edit pictures tab you will see resize on the right near the bottom. First right click on the picture and choose Open With then choose Microsoft Picture Manager. Best of Luck, This is one way to do it there are many :) Mark Old bandits are really young rascals.

Mighty fine to Ad that Rett

*LOL* if you think PSP

boggles the mind, try Photoshop CS! Wowser! I have a directory called Avatars that I keep for the ones I want to post. I have a 400 GB hard drive split into 4 drives. C drive has my programs on it. D drive has my poetry and documents on it. E drive keeps my pictures that I make or the photos I take. F drive is my downloads and shared folders and the one I allow the network to access. That way if windows crashes all I have to reload is my operating system and my programs. I also keep a backup of everything on DVD. Respectfully, Rett: "Two things stand in the way of a liberal doing what he thinks is best for people. One, he doesn't have enough power and two, we have too much freedom. Yea I underdstand

How complicated they can be. I'm learning to write CSS on another site and many of the designers there are professionals. They do outstanding work and I would be thrilled to see some of yours sometime, Rett. Thanks, Mark Old bandits are really young rascals.

Anna, too many people

into computers tend to forget that each of us started and were just as illiterate at one time. I still remember when I started back in the days of DOS. When I discovered they actually had things called programs already written I was in heaven. *LOL* Respectfully, Rett: "Two things stand in the way of a liberal doing what he thinks is best for people. Ah, the good ole days

I started off with a Timex Sinclair (does anyone even remember this?) and in college, I had to learn how to program in Pascal (#$!%$#*** language).

I remember the Timex Sinclair. For it's time is was a dang

Good instrument. I also remember the Commadore Pet, the 64 and the 128. My first really cool computer was a IBM clone with the Intel 8088 processor. A whopping 4.77 MHZ, yes megahertz, not giga, with a 4 color CGA video card, 640 K of Ram and 2 360K floppy drives. *ROTFLMAO* Respectfully, Rett: "Does this election remind you of The Emperors New Clothes? Hi Rett...

glad you are back and posting.. and look at this helpful instructional poem, I have tried to help a couple of people with the pictures but I didn't say it as well as you... it sure took me a few times to figure it out... You are computer savvy, I know who to ask if I have a problem... lol Hope you are getting back to normal there... Richard

Thanks Richard

I am back to a semblance of normal. Waiting on insurance and trying to muddle through the maze of FEMA. I will be glad when I get the damage to my house fixed. Otherwise I am pretty much normal, that is if you can call me normal. *LOL* Respectfully, Rett: "Two things stand in the way of a liberal doing what he thinks is best for people. Rett...

I wanted to ask if your house had sustained any damage, you may have posted it but I have been so busy here that this is the first day in two weeks I've got to sit down for any length of time without distractions... I know when Hugo came through here my house didn't get hit by any falling trees but many did.. I hope you get the insurance straightened out, that can be a nightmare... Richard

Yep sometimes it's fun

and sometimes it can be maddening. I built my neighbor a computer 2 years ago and it kept blowing the hard drives. Went through 3 and the last one actually went POP real loud before I figured out the mother board I had bought was bad. Traded it back in on another one and it has worked like a charm ever since. Respectfully, Rett: "Two things stand in the way of a liberal doing what he thinks is best for people. One, he doesn't have enough power and two, we have too much freedom. Maddening yeah been there

Smiles:) Barbara fixed my first laptop to death. waiting to fix it one day when I learn and remember more, I learn better by site and hands on, remember better that way, needs a motherboard. and some new keys i popped them off after my son wasted sweet tea in it thinking it would be easy to snapped back on. condition not right for me to get too all you do. so i'm on line all the time looking to learn and do more.

when they are in the process of doing the upgrades on the system. It should be fine in a while. Respectfully, Rett: "Does this election remind you of The Emperors New Clothes? No one has the guts to tell him because..." Rett
