Every Day

Every Day

Every day’s a good day,
when I wake up next to you
And I can’t wait to get home
when my working day is through
I had a flat and ran out of gas,
my whole day’s gone askew
But today is still a good day
‘cause I woke up next to you

No matter what gets thrown our way
or how tight life turns the screw
Your strength keeps us together
you’re the family super-glue
The mailman brought more bills today,
looks like we’re overdue
But today is still a good day
‘cause I woke up next to you

Sometimes at night, I lie awake,
and watch you as you sleep
I wonder why I’ve been so blessed
I’ve sowed much less than I have reaped
You have my love and gratitude,
for everything you do
I’m so lucky to have you in my life
my best friend I look up to
Yes darling, every day’s a good day
‘cause I wake up next to you

appreciation

This feeling is familiar. I like line 19 and 20. It shows that the poet has a good heart, for 'Every Day' is a good write up. Best wishes.

Blessed are they

who realize what they have and cherish it. Good write, beautiful sentiment and such a loving heart. Well done! Respectfully, Rett: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Winston Churchill
