Age Winds Howling (Trying this title)

The Howling

There’s thunder o’er the ocean;
Lightning out at sea,
Rushing from the distant past
Heading straight for me.

All my sins revisited
Upon my graying head,
Stinging pellets of yesteryear
Colder than the dead.

A storm that travels onward
Toward a future still unknown,
Hitting with the viciousness,
The impact of a stone.

The storm of age unstoppable,
Time quickly blowing by.
Things that once were easy
You no longer even try.

Take me back to yesterday;
Make me young again,
But the storm, it doesn’t listen;
Age howling on the wind.

A young man's heart

in an old man's body. What could be more cruel? Time stops for no one, my friend. Bravo. Tom

Love the write, but not too sold on the title. Will think about it some more, and see if any suggestions come about. ~Jess K. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Everyone needs to believe in something. The storm of aging rages on and the war of changing with the times is all part of the maturing process. I love the roiling emotions this piece provokes within me. I like the title, but, I don't think it does the poem justice. Always, Cat

Thank you for reading. Maybe between you and Jess you can come up with a better title. Howling at Age, Raging Winds.? I dunno. I appreciate your astute comments and your taking the time to read. Rett: They say that money talks. Sadly, my wallet has laryngitis!

Smiles:) Barbara Storm of aging and the winds of youth keep calling, but the storm doesn't listen as it carries us to this unknown future. I love this wonderfully written piece with perfect poetic description. Another great piece.

Every once in a while we miss a poem or two. How did I miss this gem? I am in love with everything in this piece. Unstoppable winds? Howling at my door? Although I think your title good.
