Personally, this poem, although not up to my normal quality, I think is hard hitting. It is rather old and talking to Peter, he convinced me I should post it. Here goes.
9:02 A.M.
There's sweet little Jenny who doesn't know why
Her brother Billy went off to the sky.
There's small gentle Tommy who still doesn't know
What happened to his best friend, Bo.
There's tiny Mary who doesn't understand
What happened to her mother, Jan.
Cry for little Bobby waiting again by the door
Wondering why Daddy doesn't come home any more.
Cry for little Suzy in her hospital bed,
For she doesn't know Mommy and Daddy are dead.
Cry for the Daddy standing out in the hall,
`Cause he's just been told that he lost them all.
Cry for the children, the families and friends.
Cry for the babies that will never have been.
Even the Heavens opened up and cried,
On the sad day when the children died.
The lightning flashed and the thunder said,
"Cry for the children, so many are dead!"
Cry for the children and what might have been.
Cry for the families, the lovers and friends.
Cry for the baby, the woman, the man,
Cry for reasons you can't understand,
Cry for the heroes; what it did to them,
Oklahoma City, nine oh two A.M. ...
