Enough Is Enough (revised)

 Hey, President Bush.
I have something to say.
When we're done rebuilding Iraq.
Can we then build the U.S. of A?

Can we cut down on our crime?
Can we give poor folks a bed?
Can we save our social security
So I don't have to work 'til I'm dead?

Have you taken a look around lately?
Have you seen what we've become?
Or are you too interested in your Middle East cronies **
to take care of your own home?

So please, Pres. Bush do the right thing.
I apologise if I sound crass.
Tell your buddies in the middle East.
To shove their oil up their ass.

** To alleviate some confusion that popped up earlier:  I didn't mean the middle east as a whole.  There are quite a few individuals who are in Bush's back pocket.  These select folks are the ones I was referring to.  I agree, the middle east are definitely NOT our cronies.  Thanks for reading.

Passionate

but misinformed, I'm afraid. Buddies in Iran? Anyway, I appreciate your passion and you raise a few legitimate concerns. Thanks for sharing. Tom

Now it makes sense

I see we're on the same team,

as well as the same name, we got rid of Howard and within a week apologised to the Aborigines and within two months intervened directly with China about their activities in Tibet and appointed Australia's first female Governor General. cheers, Jess

Wow!

I'm so impressed. Was not informed as to weirdelf's proffered info. And my congrats to him (and his country, by the way). I'm currently embarrassed to be an American, frankly ... although I can proudly state I did not (did not!) vote for the current fool-in-chief---er, I mean president. Thanx, Jess, for the Bush-whack write above (I can't think of a more deserving president) ... and welcome to the club. Yours, Chuck

LOL!!!

Yeah, in the words of Lewis Black: "all $600 does is remind you how fucked you are. I'd have been better off if my congressman came and pissed on my foot..." All that did was just screw up our taxes further down the road. Nothing is for free, that stimulus had to come from somewhere, and we're gonna be eatin' it later... ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling??"

whoa!

I didn't mean all of the Middle Eastern folks, and I'm sorry it came across that way - might need to put in a foot note. It's no secret that GWB has some people in his back pocket: Prince Bandar bin Sultan (aka Bandar Bush), the Al Saud family, Dr. Hussein Al-Shehrestani (minister of oil), and others. Thanks for taking the time to read. Glad you liked (most) of it :~) ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ "Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling??"

Bush is an easy target

and piling on is a kind of tradition. It will happen to the next president as well. All I can say is, we have not been attacked since 9/11, and no one can truthfully say that the terrorists have stopped trying. He must be doing something right. The economy is in the gutter, true, but national security is expensive, and still my #1 concern....how soon we forget. OK, enough about politics....want to discuss religion?!

I am sorry my friend,

But with out getting to political, as I have many counters to your views on this (sorry) but I have to agree with "tbeaudet." Oops, got to go Rush is closing and Sean is coming on ...(much more stimulating than Micheal Moore) I am pleased to have Mr. Bush landing in my state in about 10 min. Sorry Jess, Sincerely, Mark

Thanks for all the comments, folks..

AZ Mark: - No need to apologize my dear friend. That is why it's called opposing viewpoints. I respect yours, and I know that some folks actually support the guy. TBE: - Thanks again for reading, and your additional comments. I fear there is some flawed logic in the "we weren't attacked since 9/11" comment. We weren't attacked since Pearl Harbor before that. Doesn't mean Bush is necessarily doing the right things,in fact it means just the opposite. The 9/11 attacks took place during the Bush administration.... he clearly wasn't doing the right thing. If your statement is true, then I can say that everyone from Truman on was doing the right thing, as we weren't attacked. However, like I just said to Mark, I know not everyone is going to agree with this one, and not everyone will agree with me. Religion?! No, no,no,no... Very bad topic, and I fear I'd offend people much worse than I could with politics. Not wanting to get into a huge debate, I'll concede to let the subject rest. We'll agree to disagree, and that goes for everyone. :~) Thanks again for the comments and suggestions folks. I really appreciate it. ~Jess K. One slight correction

Clinton was in office when the WTC was 1st attacked, and did NOTHING to prevent it from happening again.... Peace, Tom

Thanks again, all.

Stav - thanks for the comments. Wasn't really going for 'cute' but there you go. Glad you liked it. TBE - point taken, and a well pointed out omission. Thanks again. JessT. - the country was actually doing kind of ok when Clinton was in administration (save WTC 1). Granted, most "goodness" is a trickle down from past administrations, but in that case, it would have been a trickle down from Reagan and Bush Sr. - which we can agree were not good times, so I think Clinton was actually doing a bit of good. Janice - I'd probably be locked up if I mailed something like this to the president, and more likely the case, it wouldn't even reach him - or he wouldn't read it even if it did. Glad your cousin made it back home safely. All the people I know that were/are over there said that they would rather suffer a court marshal than go over there again. One except a young "hoo-rah" who would love going back over there... ah well. Thanks for the read. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
