The Promise

The Promise

He left you in the morning, like a thief, he stole your heart. He took your hopes and dreams with him,but left behind one special part.
He took his advice and comfort, his companionship left too.He took his kiss and strong embrace, but left something special here with you. He left you with the promise, true love doesn’t end with life. That he loves you until the end of time, for you are his precious wife. One day your heart will be returned, aches and pains you will have none.Slow dancing barefoot with the man you love, when your journey here is done. And one things very certain,a silver lining to your cloud. The strength in you that’s blossomed, has made him very proud.

Waiting for life after death

Waiting for life after death to have her love returned to her. It is a poem of controversy. Some believe and other's don't, while others yet believe in reincarnation. Still, the thought is comforting to have one's loved ones there to meet you at the end. I would swap the last verse with the next to last verse so that the poem ends with hope. of course this is just a suggestion. Feel free to use it or not. Always, Cat

I understand why

you would suggest the rearrangement, however the point I was making was how proud we all were of her for the sudden strength she was showing. He did everything for her, and our fear was she would be like a helpless child, but we were amazed by her hidden strength, which we had never seen while he was alive. I wanted her to know that he would be very proud of her for not curling up in a ball and quitting on life. Thanks as always for your comments.

The Promise

Ahh, such a good message. A person never knows how much strength they have until they have to face things head on and alone. Well thought out and executed. Rett ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some call me lazy, I prefer Energy Conservationist~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's P.C. speak by the way.
