Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day

If Valentine’s Day is the best day to say,
I love you, I need you, so here’s a bouquet.
The rest of the year is the best time to show,
I love you, I need you, and this you should know.

Because you’re my sweetheart, because you’re my dear,
I should be giving you candy throughout the whole year.
I should be opening doors, helping you with your coat,
loving poems to adore you, I should constantly dote.

But because we’re so busy, always on the go,
I don’t take the time needed to honor you so.
I take you for granted, and don’t thank you enough,
for always being there for me, when the going gets tough.

Thank you for the boys, thanks for our nice home,
thank you for the quiet times, that we spend alone.
Thank you for your family, I love my in-laws,
thanks for doing the cooking, and ignoring my flaws.

Thanks for the food shopping, and washing the clothes,
thanks for picking out presents, and wrapping with bows.
Thanks for doing the dishes, and thanks for your laugh,
I love you more today, than I ever have in the past.

Because you’re my soul-mate, because you’re my wife,
I want to thank you for giving me a wonderful life.
Thanks for filling our home with your passion for love,
you’ve made my life better than I ever dreamed of.

So if Valentine’s Day is the best day to say,
I love you, I need you, I’ll say so today.
But the rest of the year I’ll be trying to show,
that I love you, I need you, and this you should know.
