We Would've Been Friends

We Would Have Been Friends

A casual acquaintance, a familiar face,
a smile I saw sometimes at Mancini’s place.
I usually walked in as he was on his way out,
I never got to know then, what he was really about.

But I’ve seen some photos and heard lots of laughs,
listening to family and friends, recalling the past.
Looking back on things now, I wish I'd arranged,
to take time to know him, not just kind words exchanged.

With a beautiful daughter and a handsome young son,
this man’s legacy has only begun.
A wonderful wife and close loving friends,
his epic continues, his song never ends.

Related through friends, families bound by grief,
we share the same sorrow, the same disbelief.
We still feel your pain and we know you feel ours,
two families mortally wounded by two shooting stars.

Because friendship is one of life’s greatest rewards,
I wish I’d spent more time getting to know Richie Fors.
We walk down life’s road, unaware of the bends,
with more time, I’m certain, we would ‘ve been friends.

You rhyme cadance shines in this poem

I have known people as well that I nearly knew,A person that draws that out is a charismatic person indeed. The personalization of "We Would Have Been Friends"Makes it a valued memoir to you and a brief introduction to the reader.Tom this is a gem,i am glad I found... Kind regards, David
