Melbourne in Yellows

Melbourne full of different yellows

Too many trees

Such sorrows!

Look like

Too many giant yellow roses

In chains

Breezes and breezes

Again and again

As too many invisible swords

Chopping yellow leaves

Again and again

Full of the yellow-leaf rains

Pour on the quiet terrains

Look like

So many yellow rivers

How pretty!

Out of imaging brains

In Melbourne’s yellow-leaf rains.

Welcome to the Site

I like this and the scene you have painted here and the way you have equated the leaves with yellow rivers. Nice work. Kaz

Very Insightful

Well well I mean well put, your poem really explains how much interest you have in yellow. Perhaps,You also like sunflowers or maybe just a nice metaphor.Either way your writing was rather splendid,If you get the chance would you mind reading mine.Cause the rain is rarely plain in Maryland, I'm sorry Baltimore's a shame. I'm also sorry about my brain cramp, I've been suffering from a high thought sprain. Ahhhhh!!!! There it goes again

I am from Sydney

yet have spent enough time in Melbourne to love this poem. But you know, my major memories of Melbourne are better culture than Sydney, harder to make friends without knowing a clique, and the worst cold and the hot summer winds off the desert. love poetry. cheers, Jess
