Into Gone
can’t find you now
not here where acid tears
sheer corrupted winds that rip
apart the tender raw
slices of this precious madness
I will shred those pretty paths
you must walk so dignified
muscled calves rock hard above
four inch carmine heels
how beautifully you etch
your sugar love
into the perfect Viking cross
carved across my broken skin
Read the rest of the poem Show less
till all my rabid sin
screams your loss
till I can clearly see
inside your delicate jail
teeth clenched
chained to this old cold bench
till I can count the full
cost of souls on ice
and measure all
the crimson spice
falling
from our stillborn cries
till I feel our shared
desperation cling
to the highly polished steel
soldered deep inside our minds
where my molten thirst
pulls out to ride
your wild bucking tide
till all our naked dawns
burn and rise
you slip into your red disguise
and break the pink flamingo necks
of hurricanes no longer
held at bay
for we know the names
of all the walking dead
those like us that bled
then tried to die
but instead were forced
to barely stay alive

"aaahhhhh...the dubious joys of organized religion...the endless reversity of human indecision...when will we ever learn...will we really burn...and why the hell do we continue to yearn...very strong poem...enjoyed... mi…" -

"Not Quite Tamed" by @panaella
"I like the use of "not quite"...lots of powerful undercurrents swirling between the lines...much said that is not said...encourages a bit of contemplation of how clearly we see others and present ourselves... michael" -

"Forest Quest" by @Clem
"the poem walks sure, safe inside its own mind, at intimate peace with its creator... it left me with the reassurance that Earth still reaches to hold us all, and will comfort us, if we but allow... thanks, michael" -

"Not exactly. Not when I read inscrutable and have *those* kind of thoughts. Lol. Love ya, ~A "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Paul Valery" -

"Hmmm. Good question, Raskin. White lightning, however, has a different connotation which doesn't, imo, work with the flavour of the poem. What you think Mikey? ~A "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Paul Valery" -
