Turning the Tables
The ones without capes,
heroes among the malevolence.
But the ripples and folds of the cloak
that manifest around them could still be seen.
Every time they opened a door for you,
or kept you from stepping off a curb into harm's way.
The memory of the cape remains.
It was always the kindness that mattered.
