Across the Crossroad
There were some ,
And a tidy bit more ,
They glanced at me and crossed the road ,
Stood I such ,
Almost a stand , not rigid ; not damp
The eyes blank
Unresponsive,
Clearly lost in some wonderland ,
Some laughed and posed for their own Glamour ,
Some stopped but just to ignore a bystander ,
But it is not ,
Some did thought ,
Just not enough to be of importance,
And me ,

With melancholic eyes I merely shifted a gaze ,
As if
I hoped if they only asked…..
If I was….
Okay?
Crowds rushed through the road ,
Oblivious to the dead body they crossed ,
Some Foolish , Some kind they asked if I wanted to cross the road .
I wish
I wish
I said yes .
Why shall I be the one to wait in unrest .
A little sleep I could sleep
A little dream I could dream
Today’s wait could have waited the coming morrow .
But these eyes how could they lie for so long ,
If the wait was waited or prolonged
These eyes would close
And sleep such
That they Never see me move on .
This game I play of could and would ,
Till
Some ,
Some notice be muttering
By my breath ,
And they still think I should cross the road
Instead ,
This road I will not cross ,
This road is not my fault ,
This road I will not cross .

"I agree that you could express the exasperation in the first line, by saying "You always do what you want', instead of "what I least want." 1] I think that the implication of "him' doing what he wants, establishes that…" -
