Heart Failure
You always have a motive, from my perspective.
It couldn't be just love and affection.
Forever love is something I've never received.
They claim to love, then they leave,
or the choices they made, take them from me.
It's a habit I've developed: leaving first.
It's a heart purposefully failing, to save it the hurt.
But oh, if only the heart knew you'd stay.
My heart would be saved from running away.
Will it ever be safe to love again?
Until I know, heart failure will win
