SONNET FOR BEATRICE LUNA

Shall I continue to take care of you?

For far too long you have remained in silence;

Life itself demands your oblivion

To let the new things finally come to light.

But the Moon—the Moon—whenever I see her,

She reminds me of you because your name;

And poetry, being poet, your own—

Does it rise from the distance between us?

What of the friends I gathered after you?

Nerds like me, with hippie traits like yours.

Shall I reject this merry fellowship

That is growing from virtual to real?

forevermore

forevermore the darkness
will be our home,
because we find the unexpected
without light
picking the stars we like,
but we forget that
the darkness made them visible.
forevermore i will look up to the sky searching
for what we are supposed to be
in the night full of destinies,
but the end is always here,
hiding in the light.
forevermore i will love the night
when the soul is visible
and the feral roses are rising,
from the unknown.
forevermore i will forget

Unspeakable Beats

I buried my sky
Under those thick dark cigarette clouds
Did they sputter any drops by your heart?
Still could not breathe my ail out
See how terrible this is
Tears evaporate with tobacco fire
Drop down near your alleys
But forget the song
Song I wanted to sing to you

take a bite

how many years will it take?
how many selves?
I take a bite

which parts are left to accept?
I know her
And i said sorry to her
Paid her a visit
Tried on her shoes
Too small
I undid the laces
Took them with me
Carried like armour

I know him;
his dreams
The stars in his eyes;
a swing from a tree by the river,
A bike path through the forest he visited a couple times a week
(alone)
Pretending.
his dark lit room.

I heed
-take a bite

The Croe Tolls

Not bells, but a crow found its way to my soul

Warrant bestowed at the hearing of the toll

Thy shadow from my slumber is not of my flesh nor bone

Nor is the fate of thy shadow; I no longer own

Splinters rain from knocking deeds of where a crow has perched

Rapping, tapping on the orb on the dead-post of wood

The crow speaks, speaks to me of the toll the reaper seeks

Rasping, scratching from its beak, the toll from the Crow speaks

I am not the raven that quoth of thy grim sorrow for your grief

When the Night Comes

Night unveils its strange, surreal design,
But you stood firm, the anchor and the line.
While time’s iron gears ground out a rigid law,
Your strength remained—the warmth, the sudden thaw.

Your hands, a map where silver rivers ran,
Stained with the work of some celestial plan.
Fingertips hummed a lullaby, unstopped,
While quiet truths, like heavy fruit, then dropped.

Darkened sun

How long can one stare at the sun
without burning?
How did it feel
to be set ablaze
by it?
Was I ever to know
agone I was tattered
away from it?
Shoved and thrown
into darkness.
How many light years,
small eternities,
uncounted minutes
and seconds without an end
can one stand
and drown
in the abyss
before becoming one with it?
Was I still breathing,
or was the mere act
an illusion my mind had cast
once it realized
I was never to escape?

Whispering trees

"I wish I had told you
that whispering trees would cradle every fragment of you,
And the wind would pirouette with your sorrow.
I never fathomed the shape of forever—
In this fleeting world, you exist but a breath.
As years unfurled, I believed I could understand,
The ink you bled but then ignored,
A child of shadows, never guided home.
Perhaps the haze corrodes my sight when I gaze behind,
Yet even as I peer into the distance ahead,
there's nothing left to find."

SELF

‎The pain!
‎What do you do when they all get to you?
‎Not some stored in a cookie jar,
‎Waiting to erupt at your search for peace,
‎To suddenly descend intermittently on the dining table,
‎Mixing in the chunks of meats and vegetables you have prepared to usher you into Passover.
‎How do you live in that chaos?

‎The rage!
‎How do you see yourself away from its claws?
‎Create a market for hate and call it disdain,
‎Where you sell your wares of disgust on fragile minds seeking freedom,
