as robin broods

I’m quite impressed

to see

that robin redbreast

(and without apology)

has made her nest

in my backyard’s apple tree—

with some finesse

(or its facsimile)—

outside my bedroom

window …

as robin broods

such dainty eggs,

she hides her legs—

and has me biding time

in limbo

she rained!

oh, by the way!

Mother Nature deigned,

on this very day,

to do something harebrained …

without once asking me:

she rained!

on my whim, and then caprice,

I implored her twice to cease,

which thought both times

she politely entertained;

though in each instance she

thoughtlessly refrained—

and with a wicked smile

much wider than a mile,

she rained!

Love Is...

Love is like a snow storm

It starts…it ends…but always comes back

                      Love is an annoying date….

She Seems

He wants to meet her badly

desperate is he to forge an intimate union

with the woman he daily worships.

He, becomes she, and she slaps

some skin upon his bony face,

time for him to leave, and for she

to join the human race.

He has succumbed to the she skeleton,

he’s touching the mystery of the she

Demonic Seed

I am the King and Queen of Demonic Chaos

I seek, then  I build and admire, then  I destroy

The dreams and lives of so many unsuspecting people.

Creating destruction is my greatest pleasure

I drink in the pain that I have given so freely

I get high on the blood and tears that I have introduced

Into the lives of those who don’t know my name.

midair

"midair"

sealed violets fell from
the worn accordion on deck
blue eyed man, the dusted
hat leaving blank spaces–
blanket statements,
you might say

black as the rail you
leapt from, sailor
shoes damp with confetti
the threaded roses of
blurry nights picked
at random, the smell
of blossomed gin unfolding
into your ripe red nose,

No one can hide in mid-air.

I'll forge ahead

while we’re trippin’

round the desert here

and dyin’ of thirst,

we must persevere …

p’raps some water will,

by magic, soon appear …

this weather’s too

extremely sere …

I’ll forge ahead

while you bring up the rear,

my precious darlin'

sweetheart dear

lively salent

lively salent

oh, Miss Asedgtables!

I do candidly swear that

if you, indeed, were

crackerjack with vegetables

and took your proper turn

at wild-plant edibles,

you’d show impressive talent

for Macon lively salent

Reflecting

The days of time and wonder,

We were like fireflies.

I remember it clearly,

That summer and the rain.

We were children back then,

In the suburbs,

On the outer rim of consumerism.

Creating and exploring.

Memories drift,

Perhaps like the wind,

Catching us unaware.

It seems like time changes in a heartbeat

I remember a house,

A temperature,

The heat

That summer we were children.
