where do you live

you only compose poetry
to your useless
not invaluable time
to kill
so do as you will….

Irony is her cursor
in a field with little yield,
as jungled laws prove their tenacity has merit.

Nonetheless, Fate, skillfully attributes Life
with a magically different set of circumstancess,
one that whispers of a darker loveliness.

And so, as with the heart of any Mother
she finds favor in the serendipitous manner,
that Life's winds highlights her exotic beauty.

Born into magick royalty
the one sent by the Goddess
who would set them free.

From conception forward
his destiny defined.
But in a dream
to his mother
the oracle, Riobhlinn, prophesised.
Written in blood
was Ravenel’s early demise.

With dark forces
landing on the shore,
the Queen made
a painful choice
to let her baby go.

The ferry arrives in the deep green water valley
where we wait rocking on the wharf,
brooding bush behind us
and the bird calls intermittent now
and less urgent.

The engines churn into overload, reversing
and the slave ship rattle
of the deck hand's throw and slide
seems almost mythic.

The quiet commuters,
patient as fishermen
and the young girls in their shorts
laugh into the white wash
and share secrets

I love you both
oh so dearly,
but what about me?
You left me leery.

I just wanted to be on top.
Center stage for just one play.
Then you came, took that away.

Whats it like,
to take control?
To be the star,
be lead role.

My chance is close,
but you're so near.
Now my biggest fear,
is knowing you're in their ear.

All I need,
is the triple threat.
A little success,
not these regrets.

Did you ever realize
trees have a life
no soul
human beings
as much as trees produce seeds
and as they seed fresher ones
we to newer generations

after the weeds in the sea
we were like fixated trees
quite some billions of years thence
we did to travel commence
on all fours
do you know or want to know more
we all were trees once before.

Let each faltering step I take
alight upon the deep green moss
beside a remote stream or lake
beneath treetops which stir not toss.

May I inhale a light cool breeze
perfumed with ripe wild muscadines
upon the ground beneath tall trees
fresh fallen from their autumn vines.

And might the sounds which reach my ears
be absent of the noise of men.
I'd hear, rather, what a crane hears
as it lands within a tiny fen.

JOURNEY

Leaves fall golden crimson red
on a cold autumn ground
and taken by the wind
twirling round
they dance their dance
of the dead
like souls heaven bound
in communion

I hear the whisper

of slippers

light streams

down the hallway

the morning ritual

has begun

a toilet flushing

water runs

hairdryer hums

a day begins

snuggling deeper

finding a pocket

of warmth

I close my eyes

the scent of bacon

challenges sleep

the morning news

reaches out to me

another death

another stabbing

and the list goes on

and on

broken dreams

I am wasting my time

I am losing my mind.

I threw them all behind,

I have murdered the crime.

I am shaming myself

Laugh it out laugh it out laugh it out

You are shaming me

So I lower my head and beg

And when your judgments speak to my face,

They write ugly letters I can't erase

And when I let myself be heard,

All my words just crash down and burn

Make sure you keep it in your head,

all the dirty words you said

And eat them one by one...
