Rest at Last

If one listens and stands still

You can hear the whispers of long forgotten angels

Sad sounds that would make you cry

The rustle of your soul makes a sad lament

Listen carefully

And you can tell when your thoughts let out a sigh,

such a sound.

And as you lay down to rest

And you close your eyes

All your dreams flow together for the very last time

You find peace

You would smile

If you could

Illuminate

fair eve, brilliant moon
your glow brushes across earth
like fingers on braille

When My Story Ends

When my footsteps fade from earth,

What will remain of my life's worth?

Will echoes of kindness be heard, resound,

Or will silence settle where I was found?

Did I plant seeds in hearts and minds,

Nurture dreams with written lines?

Did I lift others when they fell low,

Or let the winds of indifference blow?

Will my laughter linger in the air,

A melody of joy, light, and care?

Will my words inspire, my actions teach,

A legacy of kindness within their reach?

leafy dapples

"arboreal filtration (komorebi)"

Along the path,

the canopy lets small fragments fall,

each a soft interruption spiralling,

then settling on the ground

a morning of thinking slowly.

At One

The sea was black, forbidding, yet

silver tipped waves reflected

the rising moon.

The water ebbed and flowed,

scampering over the shingle that

hissed and whispered in contentment.

To sit and listen was an honour,

to be alone was not with fear.

In those moments nothing seemed to matter

only I existed, only I, in gentle breathing

did welcome the glorius night.

No Matter

Shallow breaths of those who sleep bare no witness

of the soul it keeps.

Secrets kept of those who weep  make no difference

 to those that leap.

Silencing those who dare to peep have no bearing

 on those who creep.

Apathy

Barbed adornment
Of padded cell.
Bubble wrapped,
For our protection.

Echo chambers,
Of repeated tell.
With shiny bling,
For our reflection.

But behind masks,
Of muted voice.
A megaphone,
Might we require.

For two-way view,
A subtle choice.
Before our world,
Is set on fire.

Yet as embers,
Start to smolder.
Humanity's frozen,
As stone boulders.

When tired and bare to the bone

after a thoroughly good session
at Phoenix twice a week
under going Physical Therapy
with Richelle Woelkers
employed at above named facility
located at 345 June Drive, Suite 140,
in Harleysville, Pennsylvania
and after returning back
to me archeological digs
re: the house at Pooh Corner
at 2 Highland Manor Drive

with ease I sleep

nothing impedes drifting off
to zzz land even drone,

courtesy the king of snorers,
nor doth need arise to count sheep

The Shop of Everything

Push up bras, and old guitars

Diamond rings and birds that sing

Plastic flowers, radios for showers

All in the shop of everything

Scaffold planks and old fish tank's

Wonky carrots and talking parrots

Second hand books and old fishing hooks

There in the shop of everything

Cats of China a large piranha

Scarves of wool and the head of a bull

A circus of fleas and tired christmas trees

Yes in the shop of everything

voices

The voice of regret

competes with

the voice of longing

drowning out even

wrath and grief
