bring a smile for me

Here is a smile
as a beautiful simile.
Life is short and sweet
let's be happy
till we meet

We may not meet
except in dreams
that itself will be a treat
let's each other
with warmth greet

Today has been a sad day
one niece
and
a sis
both had stroke today

God have mercy
we all have to go
all know

but heavens go slow
one by one
would make us happy
God you know
Don’t you
Amen

S A R A T O G A

vintage vinyl creak behind
tush
in this lush hunters paradise
the lights gleam
rusted in the nicotine years
jolly with patina and age
smelling of wood parquette
bathrooms and beer
advertisement smiles
and velvetteen slate
tables for pool sharks
hip buffers on sweated
rock throbbing band
thrashing music
ques

Packed the ice trickles
on a Double Black Russian
glistens like the hungry
eyes dluted with
intoxicant sheen
and substance
while the voices rumble
thicker then the air
conditioners
and the stumble of
the bass
distortion of the
lead with foot pedal
chorus
a happy curl at the
corner of every
jackal and wolverine
done up in their
Friday Nite best

my stainless skull
ring clanks out too
the beat on the
glass as I lean
over the bar
eyeing up the
finest of the
feast
famished
elbow deep
leaning in to
chat up another
patron in from
the wilds
us six foot wild
men taking notes
on the pack
women

the different dances
now...more bump
and grind
club scene corruption
a happy hedonism
bump and grind
in the swirling strobe
of lights and lust
all gritty glittering
passion on moist
summer flesh

ten past eleven
and feeling the
glow
growling in the
depths of
subversion
as the band
covers
'Come as U are'

Father

Father came home
with no presents for mother
but poison for himself in the shape of a bottle,
he always did look quite sad.

I didn’t mind.

Mother would retreat behing doors
painting air
with loud echoing sobs
of a mourner wishing too to die.

I didn’t mind.

At school they flung earth
at the cruxes of my skin
for the state of my shoes, you see, they were broken,
it stung like needles.

I didn't mind.

Wonderment

How can a bird fly
With a broken wing
What is marriage without a ring
Would it still be worth a try

What is an ear that cannot hear
How can music play without a beat
Would the dancers need their feet
Can an aching heart feel a lone tear

What if rain never fell
On a green lush dell
What if you could not hear a bell
Ringing for mass, would you go to hell

What of the vast sea
If not for artic melting ice
No evaporation for a cloud to wet a tree
Our view would not be so nice

A Portrait of days.

How can I stare
at that spot
on the wall
and think of
the nape of
your neck?

Hour upon hour
The feeling ripples out
crimson red echoes deep
from the heart of heart's core.

How can I sit
sifting in silence
the imperfect daubs at
the image of
you?

Day upon day
I float in an eternity,
adrift on a thought
in the embrace of your form

How can I tell lies
to my hands
pensive strum?

Hello my spermodicae

Why we all love dads
Without his sperms contribution
no woman's oven
would have shared in distribution
of worlds much needed population
we all wouldn't have been born

so thank pops all of you
and for having kept moms warm

now in return
we with all our love
on our lovely pops storm

keep his memory for ever strong
pop can you hear me
that's our love's norm

Block Doc

I'm in a strange place at the moment,
a no man's limbo land.
My muse has sidled stage left,
cut me loose and let me drift.
She's left me wanting,
exposing my frailty,
revealing an impostor,
a charlatan,
a fraud.
My thoughts are distant
so completely muffled
I can barely hear them, much less connect.
Words do not serve
but dance mockingly ahead,
taunting and jibing,
leaving my mind unsaid.
In sheer frustration
I drag them out, force them to perform

Lost Gratitude

Droplets of heavenly tears,
forming puddles of water on the ground
saving us from the grip of thirst,
yet, many still frown
when the coldness it brings
embrace the flesh
to which they are bound.

Under the sun's glaring heat,
swearing words fill the air.
Grumpy humans, lacking patience
can't see the truth that's there.
If there is no sun,
darkness will spread
across the world.

I'm sorry feels like throwing stones

Ain't that a snap when he makes the words "I'm sorry" feel like throwing stones.

And the world ain't right
when he makes the words
"I'm sorry"
feel like throwing stones.

My life ain't the same
since you made the words
"I'm sorry"
feel like throwing stones.

My world is a lonely place
since you made "I'm sorry"
feel like throwing stones.

TOLERANCE vs.ORLANDO

Those damned queers,
they're twisted, strange,
worse they're not like me.
So any time I can arrange
I keep them far from me.

And transgender? A bunch of freaks.
I keep my distance given the choice
from their stubbled made up cheeks
these manly "females" with deep voice.

Lesbians are competition
for straight guys like me
so despite the repetition
keep them far away from me
