Saturday

Saturday, and the disciples were hiding,
fearing for their lives.
Outside, the world had gone back to the status quo.
No healings on this Sabbath.
No blind men having their sight restored.
No lepers being cleansed.
No one using their newly functional hand for the first time.
5,000 hungry people remained
5,000 hungry people.
No weddings with miraculous wine.
And the priests, the pastors, the monks and elders
raised a toast
to the fact
that things made sense again.

r u still searching

you seem to be asking
a grass hopper
on which grass
are you now hopping

well a guy like me
moves on across water
land and sea
through the medium of the air
and

if you know anything
about timing zones
you will find me always
about
here and there
but where

Hello Mr Sleepless

old men sleep less or are sleepless

as they do less physical work
and
don't get tired
brain says
get up do some work

I often sleep for two evening hours
five to seven
go to bed at midnite plus minus
then at 2 am eyes wide open
I stare into the cob webbed ghostly
not ghastly ceiling

then something within me says
wake up man
the day has dawned
yes it's only 3 am
and I yawn
till actual dawn is born

Disparity...

I saw millions of lives were lost
From religious fever and lies
The world stood by and watched

I saw a fellow human being
He was troubled by disaster
I picked him up and comforted him

I've heard the shouts of truth
Yet as a species, we have not listened
Too many tongues, not enough ears

Love your neighbor, give him hope
Treat him as your brother
Hear his complaints

Show compassion
Feed his body
Free his mind

CARTOUCHE

skein snow wicks from the woods
winters like an old vampyre
ground now soapstone
not marble
agate of change
I think of the holy black of nite
full of its little swimmer
stars
they remind me of the water
lillies on dark ponds
i dont even need to close my
eyes to remember their scent
their waxy surreal petals
pale as a summer whim

ACU

As seeing stars becomes seeing Stars and Stripes,
Clothes adopt a pattern far more sinister,
Understanding only death.

Buckled Mirth

Laugh once
Laugh twice
Laugh 114 times

The giddy heights
Of hilarity
Won't save us

Although they are
A cheap way
To pass the wine

A dancing monkey
Is only terrible
On the end of a chain

Grind your organ
On the footpath
If you want to

The monotony
Of despair
Is a wound up pain

CROWN OF THORNS

Late night memories descend
upon my aging head
like coils of briers with no end
keeping me from sleep and bed.

Visions haunt of all my wrongs
through all the scores of years.
They overpower favorite songs
leaving just regrets and tears.

When all the misdeeds are counted
yet another thorn is left :
the list of all the hills I've mounted
having once more been bereft.

So here I sit alone at night
as those I know so slowly leave
wondering if one day there might
be no one left behind to grieve.

NEVER NEVER

tucker swag
ghosts lean on oil paint wall
chinese calendar
lies
its no longer 2013
no no no
and yet
more more
the never slow eye
Hit me Dealer
make the Devil Dance
U know U want to
give me a chance

This old leather chair
feels stolen
but nought
traded like lights in
the sky
close my eyes
I can feel the aurora
taste the borealis

The Wall

Capitalism
North Korea
Tear Down The Wall
Trump is on the mountain

Lines are being drawn in the sand
When to understand
we can't keep sticking it to the man
Burning bridges

faces, space & burning the midnight oil
taking to long to watch the water boil
Have we forgotten our true freedom,
lies dormant stretched the imagination
