When I was Born (FEB CONTEST)

When I was Born
it was a night so warm
the sun was below
in the Southern hemisphere

All friends and relatives did gather
I cried
they all laughed
and smiled

Then came along
Moon, Venus and Jupiter
so many others
Mercury and Mars
Most of my life
Saturn has hung along
all its slowly while
It clung on in its inimitable style

Now comes the evening of my life
besides happiness
joy in all hearts does abide
all know
it's time for me to go
LOL!!!

A Journey (into Sunku)

I move
As the wind
I seek you there

A place
We both know
For us to share.

Hold me
As you dream
I will be there..

Impasse (revisited)

Revised with intent to improve

In my
Wash Room
the day after

I let
emotions
drain

Yet
memories
of you choke
---------------------------------------------
Original version

There in
gutters lie
discards

Left
to decay,
degrade, pass

But
memories
of you choke

Dialogue with my dog (February Contest)

Every day there are
about three stars explode
around us in the visible world.
On a good day we detect them all
and on a cloudy one - none.

Today is one of those.
No point to be in the lab.
Instead I've taken my dog
on a long walk to the park.

We wade in leaves, knead the dirt.
Under the blanket of
low hanging clouds and raising fog
we wander thinking about
melted snow and burned out stars -
they are not simply cooling off rocks
but newborn atoms
sent flying in dazzling curves.

SunKu

Heart
Bleeding out
Emotions raw

Fresh
Same foe
Past regret

Love
Hate me
Go but stay

And In Turning We Might See

What I was lacking you returned
I sculpted marble columns

The ones you fall from every few
nights whistling in the dark

each time in a different posture
as if it will make any difference

Ballerina spider popped
from a fortune cookie

Sometimes there is no sense
in fighting gravity

And yet always this,
a striptease for a skull
spinning on a black
gloved finger

But this is where I live
eyes run with moonlit musk

SunKu 11 Workshop

Snowy
white winter
killed my battery

Oooh hooo
my car
sits in the yard

Yes yes
she’s under
warranty

Crossing Zebra Lines

Bands in
black and white
across the path

Wish they
would rather
crisscross in life

Zebras
barricade
road to peace

HAIR

She has long hair,
Her hair flows through the air,
Her hair shields her eyes,
So her emotions remain trapped inside,

He has short hair,
His hair just sits there,
It shows clearly his face,
His emotions are on display,
With all there beauty and grace,

She has no hair on her head,
She is bald instead,
But her emotions are still trapped inside,
Her feelings she tries to hind,
She's loosing her mind ...
and her life
