The White Chair

The Dollar is up and the TSX is down,
in this busy day northern town,
I walk my ravine route, quiet as a mute,
brook background on,
listening, a bird song.

Across the path it sat,
with white vinyl straps,
I sat upon it's lap.
A white outdoor chair,
under the pines, without a care.

Where it came from nobody knew?
it just appeared right, right out of the blue.
It sat under tall, towering pines,
passing people, passing times.
We sat there together,
in all kinds of weather.

Reflection of Auschwitz

Those hopefuls that came with keys in their suitcase
and nervous smiles waiting, giddy for the better future,
that they were promised.
Those hopefuls who brought their clothing, brushes and shoes.
Those hopefuls who didn’t know any better,
that soon learnt that it didn’t get better.

The Choking of Gewgaws

I call my house from a cellphone.

I’ve just seen a girl in an empty parking lot.

We used to think something of each other,

if she’s the right person. I call to check on

couches, pans, pots; I wonder if light still reflects.

In childhood, it was a real question whether

a party went on without me, or do toys move

when they are alone? Is the world swallowed

by solipsism, right down to the smallest object?

A music box's insides must need surgery

every now and then. Carousel horses can stare

Deep afternoon dive

Long shadows of afternoon
sway in the wind.
I am drying my days on the rope
the old fashioned way.

Enough hectic tumbling,
I am not in a rush anymore.
I watch the shadows
to grow strong.

I watch the oblique stripes
jalousie leaves on the floor -
Black and White in alignment
of musical notes.

I believe Bach is reborn and lost
in the contemporary.
Nobody cares reminding
him about who he was.

A Letter to Emily

In her bedroom is her white dress,
As white as that of a virgin snow.
In those moments before the night,
Dressed in white, she basked in the afterglow.

Her world was so simple -
Her home and her dearest garden.
She took her afternoon walks there like
An apparition or an angel of Eden.

Perhaps, it was where
She would write letters to the World
And share with Her Majesty
Secrets and stories she sweetly told.

An Abode for Sadness

The void of solitude deepens
showing no mercy for a heart hollowed over time
plunging into a blinding darkness
home to the demons breaking silence
whispering omens about beginning of an end
a heart once an abode
to endless dreams and love
now shattered of all hope and spirits
prays "Lord hold me in your arms"

Poemography [Sunku]

Feel me
she whispers
words just my mask

Verses
my costume
over essence

Beneath
I lay bare
my true colors

Mercy

I cry out your name,
Try to swallow my shame,
avoiding all vanity,
just to keep my sanity,
please help me through,
for i need to follow you,
bring me to the mountain top,
the love i feel will never stop,
understand my struggle within,
embrace me even when i sin,
the things these eyes have seen,
should never have been,
knowing what is ahead,
we have been mislead,
your response is taking to long,
heavy burdens are very strong,
lift your hand and take it all away,
