Why Did I Love You?

I have no courage left, your actions
have ground my heart into a fine dust...

You left me empty –
until the moments come
where you provoke the sphinx…
giving rise to an earthquake
that rends my psyche

...all of creation quivers around me...

and I realize that hole
where my heart once lived
is now a pit of fire - full of hatred and anger.

Cloud.

Beautiful mass of-
bodies suspended above
floating leisurely on azure skies
Looking up i see a colorful display of white and blue; paintings in the sky
They are God’s sketches
the Almighty’s creation
i marvel at the way they move with great coordination
lazily navigating through the horizon
Without a care in the world.

Jog In Fog

you are not
on Jupiter
or in an airplane

there is ground
beneath your feet

but everything else
is gone

except the clouds
and your memory

of how far until
the next
bend in the road

you could be body
only

but your mind
gropes, too

or relaxes

in the idea
that you can be lost
in the world

and still be found

Irreprisible spirit of water

from a bird's eye
I see streams rapids rivers rummaging
cutting through rocks gorges ravines foothills plains
spewing gurgling giggling
with boundless energies
creating labyrinths across latitudes longitudes
breaking barriers
resonating laws of Newton Graham Dalton, Mayer
ultimately progressing into tumultuous laughter
re-energizing the oceans

A Pristine Day

As the fresh morning breaths
break through the silver sky,
entangled rococo threads
emulate a talisman;
an enchantment has just
presaged a new born day

Tertiary tints:

An uncommon woman and a common man
Youthful, savvy, political partners in crime
Differing in creed but united in need to plan
A path to the top in record breaking time

Amoral obsession that would not be denied
With a slogan that would get the job done
Connived, survived and thrived as they plied
Their plans as “two for the price of one”.

Along the way came and went alliances
Promises, compromises, obligations
Dalliances, disagreements, disappearances
Reversals, reprisals and retractions

LEFT BEHIND

Like a wounded tiger that
Watch food passes by,
like a broken vulture which
beg for it's meal.
Hope is almost lost when a sea
pushed out a fish.

It's a competitive universe
a fight hard deal
a run over race and a trial or error
Should one make it or die trying?
For every day craving even crude
can look like water.

A quest for flying is the nature of bird
The wind flows towards a direction
at a moment it suppose to
When the rain resumes all plants enrich.

Bard of the Bunch

as he sat
eating his buttered toast
and doing the crosswords

listening to the birds
at the backyard feeder
twittering away

some as confident
as a newly signed pop singer
some less so

he wondered if they
had their own
trivia

if the feeder
was their water cooler
and some birds
recounted some great battle
from the seventh
or seventeenth century

or perhaps
a well known bird’s
well known sex life

fishing girl

I knew a girl from the Philippines
who knew her way around the sea

She thought that I’d be quite a catch
and reeled me in to see

By the time she had me in her net
her hook had wandered deep,

and found its way inside my heart
and woke it from its sleep

She laid me ‘cross her starboard deck
and eyed me head to feet

And every inch, I felt her eyes
and lain there silently

I waited there, a drowning fish,
and finally saw the sea,

As I watched her stare at other fish —
each indifferently

Parsing Personalized Patriotism:

What is true measure of a Patriot?
Marching and saluting an unfurled flag?
Cheering the fevered partisan riot?
Hounding one due to tagging by a rag?

Strongly supporting the right to differ
Holding our government accountable
Accepting good in opponent offer
Helping plans for nation to be stable
