On child abuse!

One cold rainy night
in Nevada!
The wind blew so hard that
the window panes shook.

I sat on a bench in a
cold dark room,
and cried because,
I felt so alone.

I wept so loud that
the old woman
sitting with me,
shook me til' I shut my mouth!

That night I think that
she damaged my brain,
because of the
shaking chide!

There was no one there,
as usual, all I could do
was gasp for air.
I couldn't control my reaction.

My apartment

My two bedroom apartment
functions so well for me.
It is the rock I lifted
from my back
which bore down on me.
It brought back
the smile
I never thought I would ever feel again.
It gave me
creativity
and joy.
It gave me
strength and power,
It gave me a promise,
that I would rise again,
but in a different form.
This space,
my space,
is my essence,
the very best part of me.
It expresses
who I am
and what I do.
It strengthens me.
It protects me.

Crossroads

CROSSROADS

There is so much more in life that I want and deserve
So I’ve searched and found myself ahead of the curve
Yet to follow the link online, it just takes a bit of nerve
There is a deal in prospect that is like the mother lode
Now it’s straight on across the plains to that crossroad
As he will be waiting there for me, a contract in hand

You tell me I am no good

You tell me I am no good
When I am sleeping
Next to you in bed
Because I snore very loud
And that wakes you up
Now you are having trouble
Going back to sleep
Also, I am obese
That is what you tell me
I put myself on a diet
Because I don't want
To have a stroke or a heart attack

Trials and Tribulations

Trials and tribulations appear at every window and door
Constantly reminding me of the many things that I truly abhor

It is now time to cover these open spaces within my mind
And begin to view all those precious things that I can find

The face of a loving wife, the smiles and smirks of kids in my life
The friends that I see each day relieving all my thoughts and strife

These are the things that truly matter, that which we should gather
Put into the windows and doors of our minds the thoughts that matter

Hope springs eternal...

as Democrats swept key races
in 2025 elections in early referendum
as the donkey switch places
with the elephant in house
and Trump on the warpath
ranting and raving against good graces
being upstaged courtesy
the webbed, wide world braces
as poker faced card sharp
doth captcha aces
in the figurative hole.

What with the New York
mayoral win of far left,
democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani
Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger,
both moderates, won the governorships
of New Jersey and Virginia.

If the rain stops today

If
The rain stops today
I will be happy
Because I can go out
For walk
In the park
Now during the morning
If
The birds sing to me
Their symphony
I will love it
If
I can have a afternoon
I will have
Because I need one
If
Understands that I need
Than in my life
I will be very happy
I can't live without people
In my life
If
Tomorrow we have the
First snow fall
I will catch up on my
Sleep
