You Mattered

“I’m not ready to be okay yet”
Because being okay
Feels like forgetting
Like betrayal
Like I never loved you

It feels like grief is the only language
Where I can still say your name
Without asking me
To lighten the weight

I want to cry
When I hear your song…

It’s proof that you mattered.

Dear Skies,

This one really resonated... I loved the reverence of it. The language usage is great. it feels like a whisper, not daring to breathe... If you change anything, do not touch the things I have mentioned, please.

fondly, Cat

Candlewitch,

Thank you for reading and for the gentle feedback.  I'm sorry this resonated... I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

You Mattered

Hello, Skies,

Having gone through much of the same thoughts before, I can relate.  I finally found that being okay was not a betrayal at all, but a continuation of what truly matters - the beautiful effect my loved one made on my life.

A brief, but embracing poem.

Thank you,

L

Lavender,

Thank you for sharing what it feels like on the other side. I love your interpretation of it.  Maybe next, I'll venture into the impact they made on my life and try to mend this broken heart along the way.

Warmly,

Skies
