The Untethered Black Man
The Untethered Black Man
The strong essence of the Black man—
carrying the burdens, trials, and scars of the world.
Stories untold, thoughts concealed, emotions hidden,
waiting to be seen, heard, and understood.
The Black man is everything.
You grace us with love and affection,
powerful leadership and purposeful direction.
Sensitive and caring toward your queen,
the provider, the builder, the visionary—
the man with the plan.
Beyond labels and stereotypes,
you are more than what others choose to see.
Beyond the color of your skin
lies something profound, something undeniable,
that makes a sister appreciate all that you are and all that you do.
Your intelligence is captivating.
Your conversation is genuinely interesting and authentic—
what can only be described as spellbinding mental stimulation.
Black man, your energy is always dope.
You are forever and always loved.
Forever and always acknowledged and respected.
Forever and always accepted, never rejected.
Forever and always appreciated for who you truly are.
Dope and underrated,
authentic essence at its finest.
Sincerely,
To the untethered Black man.

I'm thinking...
that "untethered" means not taken? As in not in a relationship. I thought that maybe your "man" is somewhat of a hero and/or a myth, someone who is all the things you want in a partner. The use of the word "dope" makes it feel like the only thing you can do is to wait and see what happens, with every indication that it is going to be alright. ~ Geezer.
