Summer's Golden Glide

The sun, a forge in skies of endless blue,
Melts all the edges, sharp and hard away.
And on the lake, a vision fresh and new,
A summertime blonde begins her bright display.

Warm skin softly touched, Moon hangs heavy, breath held close, Whispers in the dark.

The tow rope taut, a lifeline to the speed,
The engine hums a rhythmic, pulsing beat.
Then with a surge, she rises, born indeed
Upon the mirrored surface, cool and sweet.

Sweet scent of night bloom, Stolen glances, heat that climbs, Bodies intertwined.
Her hair, a spray of sunlight in the breeze,
Streams out behind, a banner light and free.
She dances on the water with such ease,
A laughing nymph for all the world to see.

Bare feet on cool tiles, Sighs escape in humid air, Stars watch from above.

The spray it bursts, like diamonds in the air,
A fleeting crown that catches golden light.
No earthly burden, not a single care,
Just pure sensation, beautifully bright.

Moonlight on bare flesh, Slow caress, a gentle burn, Dawn begins to blush.

The shoreline blurs, a canvas green and deep,
As she carves arcs with effortless command.
This moment held, a treasure she will keep,
Summertime flying, blonde across the land...

Sleepy, sated smiles, Sunlight paints the window pane, Summer love remains.

Or rather, water, where her spirit's high,
Beneath the vast and welcoming blue dome.
A fleeting grace that captivates the eye,
A sun-kissed queen upon her watery home.

Hello Mark

Wow! This is a wonderful celebration of summertime as well as maybe youth, too?
A magical descriptive piece. I especially like the alternative use of the haiku/semi haiku and the usual quatrains.
An energetic poem that summer lovers will appreciate in many levels.
Bravo!
