Single Forever

This heart is a revolving door
open and unstoppable.
A whirling juggernaut,
twisting minds and turning stomachs.

A palate of affection with great hunger.
My ravenous roaring appetite
sated by the smallest crumb of possibility.
Sweet dates overflow, with bitter Deja Vu.

Mountains revealed between lines of chit chat.
Casual dates end quickly at hello.
Being repelled by their instant attraction,
in my mind I'm already alone and home.

Love's welcome is worn out!
Tired of empty, tedious talk.
Drowning in shallowness,
wondering if it's mine or hers.

Her mind looks to dreams and our future.
My eyes seek an ending and escape.
Can all these women really be broken?
It must be me... But oddly, I'm okay with it.
